Vivek Kundra Aims to Embrace New Manners of Doing Things

In an era when you are likely to have more friends in Cyberspace than in the real world, Web 2.0 living cannot be ignored. And for the first time ever, the U.S. government is no longer disregarding it either. With a Presidential campaign motivated by the Internet, it should be no surprise that the Obama Administration, specifically Vivek Kundra, is employing the Internet to link with the American public. This Gov 2.0 initiative is all about transparency of government and participation of the American people.

Vivek Kundra, Tech Czar

From cloud computing initiatives to holding government contractors amenable for the services they render, Vivek Kundra works to make enlightened use of the Information Technology budget he contains. He realizes that making the correct IT choices that address new mediums and advances in technology will contribute to efficient operations in government agencies. His goal is an IT substructure that operates within budget parameters while delivering fantastic value to the American people.

Vivek Kundra utilizes his IT expertise to manage U.S. government funded technology investments. Before becoming the first Federal Chief Information Officer of the U.S. Government back in March 2009, Vivek Kundra was CTO for Washington D.C. and Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Technology for Virginia. He is well on the track to modifying the national, and possibly global, view of how government collaborates with its citizens.
